As an observationist i have learnt that sci fi of yesterday ends up being fact tomorrow. Think old comic Dick Tracy talking to his watch and todays smart watches that you can makes calls with now. Think of that fictional book from Greg Bear titled Moving to Mars. Mars 2024 stuff et al. Yep, that'll happen eventually, too. Time is all we need. Nothing will stop us from moving to another exoplanet too. Humans arent doomed we just need a new rock to be choked up about and focus our inane boredom on something amazing.
